A year of events: Data Centre LIVE, Cloud & 5G LIVE & more
2024 promises to be an exciting year for technology. Our own Tech & AI LIVE virtual events, in London on 21st May and in New York on 20th November, promise a fantastic lineup of keynote speakers representing industry giants like DXC Technology, Ericsson, and NetApp, Microsoft, IBM, and Deloitte.
Until then, we look back at our events from 2023, which focused on some of the hottest topics in technology, featuring thought-provoking insights from some of the leading figures in the industry.
Data Centre LIVE Virtual: 17th May 2023
Launched in May, our inaugural Data Centre LIVE event delved into the depths of all things data centres, cloud and digital transformation.
Featured guests - including VMware’s Vittorio Viarengo, NTT’s Marientina Laina and Schneider Electric’s Steven Brown - were on the pulse and interacting with participants, amplifying the conversations on data, cloud and 5G.
Also joining the lineup were InfraPrime’s Susanna Kass, who led both a solo keynote on Sustainable Innovation in Data Centres and participated in the Sustainable Data Centres Forum, and Jon Eaves of Edge Centres who led The Edge Computing Forum.
With 15 stellar sessions taking place across the day, favourites include Michael Ortiz’s session on The Impact of Generative AI on the Data Centre Industry and Energy, Innovation and The Route to Net-Zero, facilitated by Ark Data Centres’ Pip Squire.
Tech LIVE Virtual: 8th June 2023
Highlighting the innovators changing and disrupting the technology industry, June’s Tech LIVE Virtual featured expert keynote speakers to interactive fireside and panel discussions.
Live-streamed to a global audience, the event featured a number of keynote presentations across two live streams, including lively panel discussions from leading experts and influencers in the technology industry.
Attendees gained a deep dive into the future of technology, AI, and cyber and explored the most critical topics in the global technology industry, from the AI revolution, quantum computing, cybersecurity and IoT to VR, the virtual workplace, blockchain and technology's place in sustainability.

Kate Maxwell, CTO for Worldwide Defense & Intelligence at Microsoft, on demystifying generative AI
In this keynote talk at Tech LIVE Virtual 2023, Kate Maxwell, Chief Technology Officer for Worldwide Defense & Intelligence at Microsoft, takes attendees on a whirlwind tour through the AI landscape, discusses the impact of generative AI across all industries and busts some of the technology's myths.
“At Microsoft, we believe that the world is on the cusp of a technology driven inflection point,” Maxwell comments. “This change is not just coming. It is here and it is happening right now.
“I think as a society, we frequently fall victim to hype cycles, especially in technology. But when we are talking about generative AI, this is real. And I believe this hype really is warranted.”
The Digitalisation & Decarbonisation Forum
In this exclusive conversation, our panelists, Paul Wrighton, Director of Sustainable Infrastructure at Johnson Controls, Simon Tucker, Global Head of Energy, Utilities & Resources at Infosys Consulting, and David Pownall, VP of Services & Safety UK at Schneider Electric, explore the impact of digital technologies such as cloud computing, AI, and blockchain on sustainability, and share insights on how businesses can leverage these technologies to reduce their carbon footprint.
Cloud & 5G LIVE Virtual
Cloud & 5G LIVE took place on the 11th and 12th of October and saw experts in Telco, Cloud, 5G, AI and Sustainability take to the stage and cover critical topics such as 5G, network transformation and cloud computing.
The two-day virtual event showcased engaging presentations, interactive sessions, panel discussions and fireside chats, with a total of 23 sessions taking place across both days.
Speakers included Christopher Marsh-Bourdon, Vice President of Global Financial Markets at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Nick McQuire, Director of Product Management, Strategic Missions and Technologies at Microsoft, Ken Urquart, Global Vice President, 5G Strategy at Zscaler and Syed Shabih Abbas, Global Director Cloud Managed Services at DXC Technology, alongside a range of fireside chats and leaders forums.
