Job To: CEO at Digital Edge


John Freeman was announced as Digital Edge CEO in February 2025. Effective from the second quarter of 2025, it is the hope that his appointment as CEO will further drive the company’s data centre growth as it plans to further expand its data centre technology.

John is an industry veteran with more than two-and-a-half decades of experience working within the data centre and  technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) industry. 

He has led global teams across Asia, the Americas, Europe and the Middle East and Africa (MEA) and was a founding executive of Digital Edge. Since the company’s inception, he has served on the Board and was previously Chief Legal Officer before becoming Group President in 2024.

Previously, John worked at Tata Communications for 16 years, with his last role at the company Chief Legal and Compliance Officer in Singapore.

Speaking on his appointment, John said: “I am honored to step into the role of CEO, and excited about the opportunity to continue working alongside our partners and the incredibly talented team at Digital Edge to provide timely and diverse AI and cloud-ready data centers and connectivity solutions to our customers.”

Effective from the second quarter of 2025, Digital Edge CEO Samuel Lee will transition to be a Senior Advisor to the Board.
