Data Centre Magazine spotlights some of the most high-profile executive moves across the industry this month

Job From: Chief Operating Officer at STACK Americas

Job To: President at STACK Infrastructure

Matt VanderZanden was announced as the new STACK President in February 2025.

In his new role, Matt will oversee commercial, financial, development, design and construction, facility management and legal operations for STACK Americas.

Through his appointment, the leading data centre developer hopes to highlight its commitment to delivering industry-leading digital infrastructure solutions on a global scale.

Matt has been with STACK Infrastructure for six years, most recently as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the company’s day-to-day strategy. Prior to this, he was the company’s Chief Strategy Officer, where he led development and location strategy for the company’s data centre portfolio.

In addition, he focused on product development and strategic partnerships, where he was able to offer his extensive experience and insight as a former hyperscale data centre executive. He previously worked at Facebook (now Meta), where he was instrumental in expanding the company’s global data centre footprint.

It was at Facebook that Matt built and managed the company’s global data centre location strategy programme and team as Director of Data Center Site Selection. As a result, he is able to understand the complexities of the industry, in addition to data centre and critical infrastructure development, government relations and location strategy.

Speaking on his appointment, Matt shared: “I am honored to step into this role at such a pivotal moment for STACK.

“We have established a strong reputation for delivering speed, scale, certainty, and responsibility, and I look forward to collaborating with our talented team to further support our clients’ growth and success.”
