atNorth's Taina Ahti-Aalto is ready to expand data centre operations across Finland
Colocation provider atNorth has announced that Taina Ahti-Aalto will join the team to lead operations across new and existing facilities in Finland

Nordic colocation, AI and high-performance computing provider, atNorth, has announced the appointment of Taina Ahti-Aalto, as Operations Director for Finland.

atNorth is one of the leading data centres worldwide which is expanding its global data centre portfolio, especially across the Nordic region. atNorth is growing its operations in Finland in a strategy to meet the demand from hyperscalers for sustainable high performance infrastructure and technical excellence. The company currently operates two data centres in Finland and has two additional sites under construction, FIN02 in Helsinki and FIN04, a mega site in Kouvola.

Taina Ahti-Aalto brings two decades of data centre leadership

Taina has spent two decades working in the tech industry, including leading data centre operations at PCBI as a Unit Director of Services and also at critical infrastructure company Coromatic, where she was a founding member and later Country Manager. 

Taina’s industry knowledge and experiences give her a strong customer focused approach to her work and make her an ideal fit for atNorth’s operations team in the Finnish market. Taina was also selected for her strong track record in leadership and development in the critical infrastructure industry. 

atNorth has two additional data centre sites under construction in Finland: FIN02 in Helsinki and FIN04 in Kouvola.

Erling Guðmundsson, Chief Operations Officer at atNorth, said that Taina’s proven results in the data centre industry made her ideally suited to scale our operations in Finland.

Taina’s responsibilities will be to lead the operations team atNorth through new and existing facilities and to make sure that atNorth’s facilities in Finland will continue to meet the requirements for industry best practices and customer requirements as they develop.

atNorth expands executive team to accelerate data centre growth 

This news comes after a range of new additions to the atNorth team. Data centre expert Jörgen Larsson joined atNorth with the aim of bolstering the company’s substantial growth plans. “atNorth’s dynamic, growth orientated environment is reminiscent of my early years at Facebook”, Jörgen says, speaking on his appointment. “The business’ scope to innovate and scale in this fast-growing industry is exciting and their commitment to sustainability, employee culture and client relationships gives them a highly competitive edge. I’m delighted to be part of their future journey.”

Anna Kristín Pálsdóttir arrived to lead continued growth strategy as Chief Development Officer. “atNorth’s expansion strategy has been hugely successful and illustrates the quality of the solutions they offer,” Pálsdóttir said upon her appointment. “As the demand for their sustainable infrastructure continues to increase, I am excited to join this cohesive team to lead the development of atNorth’s new data centre sites.”
