New Speakers Join the Data Centre LIVE 2025 Lineup
Evolving rapidly, the demand for digital services, cloud computing, AI and edge computing is driving innovation in the data centre industry.
A cornerstone of the digital economy, key trends emerging in the data centre industry include sustainable operations, edge data centres, AI and automation integrations, modular and prefabricated designs, global expansion, advanced security and quantum computing.
Returning in 2025, Data Centre LIVE will host a virtual event on 25 March to connect the world’s data centre leaders and explore the latest advancements, challenges and opportunities in the data centre industry.

Lex Coors, Chief Data Center Technology & Engineering Officer at Digital Realty
Over the last 30 years, Lex has built a career in designing versatile, cost effective and energy-efficient data centre infrastructure, supervising the design and build of more than 70 data centres and developing close to 600,000 metres squared gross space with over 300,000 metres squared net space across Western Europe and Africa.
In his current role, Lex has been the pioneer of several new approaches to data centre design and management at Digital Realty including the improvement of power ratio efficiency between server load and transformer load. He is also the pioneer of the industry’s first ever modular approach to data centre architecture.
Lex is a Visiting Professor at the University of East London specialising in data centre sustainability and energy efficiency. He also serves on the Climate Neutral Datacenter Pact, EUDCA Policy Committee, and iMasons Advisory Council. Lex helped develop the Climate Accord and joined the European Commission Industrial SMR Alliance in 2024, representing the European Datacenter Association.
💬 Speaking at Data Centre LIVE 2025, Lex will be taking part in the ‘AI-Ready Infrastructure’ panel. During the panel, he will explore the key components of AI-ready infrastructure, including high-performance computing, edge computing, energy efficiency, and scalability.
Alongside the other panellists, Lex will share insights on how to optimise infrastructure for AI, the role of next-generation technologies like GPUs and quantum computing as well as strategies to ensure data centres can handle the growing demands of AI-driven operations.

Gary Watson, Country Manager at Keppel DC REIT Ireland
With more than 30 years of experience, Gary has worked across telecommunications, data centres, managed services and cloud in Europe.
Gary has held his role as Country Manager at Keppel DC REIT Ireland since 2016. He also has a MSc in facilities and workplace management from London Metroplitan University.
💬 Speaking at Data Centre LIVE 2025, Gary will be taking part in a fireside chat dedicated to future-proofing data centres, specifically sustainability and the role of retrofitting.

Michael Ortiz, CEO at Layer 9 Data Centers
With 25 years of experience in the digital infrastructure industry, Michael has dedicated his career for the last 15 years to creating solutions in the mission-critical sector.
In his current role as CEO of Layer 9 Data Centres – as well as his time at Digital Reality and DuPont Fabros – Michael has been responsible for the greenfield, brownfield and BTS developments catered to the Magnificent Seven.
💬 Speaking at Data Centre LIVE 2025, Micahel will be taking part in the ‘Global Hyperscale Strategies’ panel. During the panel he will delve into the strategies employed by global hyperscale data centre operators to manage and expand their vast infrastructures.
Alongside the panellists, Michael will discuss the key drivers behind hyperscale growth, including technological advancements, market demand, and geographical considerations.
