Trendyol Data Centre in Ankara due to Support Hyperscalers

Trendyol, one of the leading e-commerce platforms in Türkiye, is partnering with Castle Investments to develop a data centre in Ankana.
The strategic partnership has been formalised through the signing of a Shareholders’ Agreement (SHA) to design, develop and operate Ankara Data Hub, a 48MW IT capacity data centre. This will be one of the largest and most advanced in the region and Uptime Tier III certified, incorporating the latest technologies and world-class operational standards to meet the changing needs of hyperscalers, cloud service providers and local businesses.
“Trendyol's leadership is built on its world-class technological solutions and smart data applications,” says Çağlayan Çetin, President of Trendyol Group.
“The Ankara Data centre project will significantly enhance the quality of service we offer to our rapidly growing local and international customer base and represents further evidence of our commitment to investing in Türkiye and our confidence in the country’s strong digital ecosystem.”
Delivering mission-critical data centres
Trendyol will occupy a significant portion of the new data centre’s capacity, as it seeks to support its local and international activities with cutting edge technology services.
The remaining capacity within the data centre will be commercially available to other major cloud players and enterprise customers moving forward.
Costing approximately US$500m, the first phase consisting of 9.6MW of IT capacity is due to go live in Q3 2026 and focus on delivering colocation services. Construction is actively underway in Temelli, Ankara and is progressing in line with the anticipated delivery milestones, the company says.
The build is being supported by Castle Investments, a company founded by Tarek Al Ashram, one of the region’s leading figures in data centre development.
He says: “This partnership represents a major step forward in shaping the future of digital infrastructure in the region.
“Combining our extensive track record in delivering mission-critical data centre facilities with Trendyol’s technological leadership and digital scale in Türkiye will make the Ankara Data Hub an iconic project and a new regional benchmark.”
The company shared via LinkedIn: “Trendyol’s leadership has long been built on its world-class technological solutions and smart data applications.
“Due to open in Q3 2026, the Ankara Data centre will have an IT capacity of 48 MW once it becomes fully operational and will be one of the largest and most advanced data centres in the region. As well as helping us to better serve our growing domestic and international customer base, it reinforces our commitment to investing in Türkiye and our confidence in the country's strong digital ecosystem.”
Driving hyperscale innovation in Türkiye
Türkiye continues to experience substantial growth in its AI capabilities, leaving room for large-scale data centre innovation. According to Stanford University's AI Index for 2025, the country has recorded a 198% increase in AI talent concentration between 2016 and 2024.
As the country continues to prioritise digital transformation, it is investments like this that position it to better capitalise on increasing demand for AI and other emerging technologies.
“We maintain our leadership in the sector with our world-class technology solutions and smart data applications,” Trendyol added, via its LinkedIn post.
“With the trust we have in Turkey's digital ecosystem, we will resolutely continue our investments in our country.”
