Who is Mike Giresi, Vertivās New Global CIO?

A technology veteran, Mike Giresi is expected to lead Vertiv’s strategy as it looks to expand its digital capabilities across hyperscale and edge data centre markets.
The global leader in critical digital infrastructure has appointed Mike as Chief Information Officer (CIO) effective 30 June 2025 and will lead the company’s initiatives in AI adoption across the business, cybersecurity, product security and digital-enabled productivity and customer experience.
His appointment is part of Vertiv’s mission to become a technology-first organisation that is driven by the needs of its customers.

“Mike deeply understands the opportunities of a rapidly evolving AI, digital and IT space and has the experience, the executional focus and expertise to reinforce our competitive advantages,” says Giordano (Gio) Albertazzi, CEO at Vertiv.
Technology veteran to drive hyperscale acceleration
Having worked in technology and IT sectors for a number of years, Mike is no stranger to digital transformation. Most recently, the new CIO was working as Chief Digital Officer at Molex, a consumer electronics company, leveraging his more than 30 years of IT experience.
He has worked in chief leadership roles for more than 20 years, having also worked as Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Aramark and CIO at Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. With experience in IT-based business transformation, he has been working to lead organisations into more focused digital business strategies to facilitate stronger innovation.
Mike also works to ensure that businesses stay up to date with the latest trends and customer demands in order to grow their brand successfully.
Speaking about his appointment, he says: “I am excited to join Vertiv, helping the global teams to create accretive value through advancement of company digital strategy initiatives.
“By continuing to evolve and improve Vertiv customer experience, product development and manufacturing capabilities, we will take the next steps towards enabling accelerated adoption of AI and digitisation for hyperscale, enterprise and edge customers.”
Defining a new era for Vertiv
This appointment comes as Vertiv is eager to shift its focus towards delivering more for hyperscale customers. The company has been eager to power ahead in new infrastructure growth for some time, having debuted a series of innovations this year already to suit the needs of AI-ready data centres.
Gio explains: “Strong digital and IT vision and execution are central to our strategy to continue to lead the industry and constantly augment the value we are delivering to our customers.”
In May 2025, the company announced a strategic alignment with Nvidia’s roadmap for 800 VDC power architectures, as it hopes to position its solutions to better meet the infrastructure needs of next-generation AI data centres. The portfolio is expected to be released in the second half of 2026.
Likewise, the company announced its energy-efficient 142kW cooling and power reference architecture last week for the NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 platform. Alongside fully integrated end-to-end cooling and power strategies, the platform is designed to shift away from traditional buildouts and can be customised to reduce planning times and risk.
“By combining Nvidia’s advanced AI platforms with Vertiv’s expertise in power and cooling infrastructure, we’re enabling customers to deploy next-generation data centres that are more efficient, scalable and ready for the most demanding AI workloads,” says Dion Harris, Senior Director of HPC and AI Infrastructure at Nvidia.
“Together, we’re helping organisations unlock new levels of performance and sustainability as they build the future of AI.”
