EXA Infrastructure plans to expand its London services via Telehouse data centre
EXA Infrastructure invests in fibre connectivity at Telehouse South data centre to expand London services and to reinforce critical digital infrastructure

Telehouse is set to enable EXA Infrastructure to expand its London services via its data centre in London.

As a leading digital infrastructure provider, EXA Infrastructure is expanding its services with a strategic investment into diverse fibre connectivity at Telehouse South. This move aims to further reinforce their critical digital infrastructure platform, with more plans to come in the future.

The news follows a more than 20 year collaboration between the two companies and aims to ensure diversity across EXA’s London offerings, enhancing fibre and transmission capabilities.

Expanding connectivity capabilities

The collaboration also aims to pave the way for future expansion, with EXA planning to release cutting-edge technology - including Infinera’s latest Flex technology - that could support speeds up to 400G and spectrum.

Will Scott, Vice President Sales at Telehouse Europe

“We’re thrilled that EXA is supporting Telehouse in providing complete diversity at our Telehouse South data centre, allowing us to expand the range of services we can offer to our UK customer-base,” says Will Scott, Vice President Sales at Telehouse Europe.

“This continues a successful, decade-long partnership and we look forward to further close collaboration with EXA as we foster innovation and enable businesses to embark on digital transformation at Telehouse South.”

Both companies are also hopeful that the new investment will complement the advanced services that they already offer the London market, which is one of the largest data centre markets in Europe.

About EXA Infrastructure:
  • EXA Infrastructure is a digital infrastructure platform and cable network connecting Europe and North America owning over 110,000 km of fibre network in 34 countries

Steve Roberts, SVP, Strategic Investments and Product Management at EXA Infrastructure adds: “We are excited to continue working closely with Telehouse. Telehouse South is an ideal location for our expansion in fibre and transmission, enabling us to build on the several footprints we already have across the Telehouse Docklands campus.

“We plan further investment, enabling our customers to boost their growth.”

How Telehouse supports London growth

First opened in 2022, Telehouse South is a key site for connectivity, particularly as it supports EXA Infrastructure’s investment in diverse fibre cables.

The facility first went live in November 2024 and is integrated into the Telehouse Docklands campus via a diverse fibre network. As a result, it offers access to one of the world’s densest networks, with more than 1,000 carriers, ISPs and ASPs.

Data Centre Magazine toured the Telehouse campus at the end of 2024 (which you can see in our February 2025 magazine) and learned that the work completed at this site is mostly fibre-based, with the carrier room consisting of a range of fibre optic cable routes which can be interlinked depending on the individual needs of the customer.

The recent addition of two floors, on account of data demands surging, has provided an extra 5.4MW of IT capacity. This has brought the facility’s total to 7.7MW across three floors.

Paul Sharp, Senior Buildings Manager at Telehouse

Paul Sharp, Senior Buildings Manager at Telehouse, told us at the time: “As we look to the future, we will continue to build out further floors within Telehouse South and optimise our infrastructure. This includes trialling new cooling solutions, such as liquid cooling systems, to handle the increasing heat density associated with emerging technologies.”

Likewise, the data centre’s strategic location near the City of London and Canary Wharf ensures low-latency connectivity to London’s financial district.

As with all Telehouse facilities in Docklands, 100% of the electricity procured for Telehouse South is obtained from renewable sources and is backed by UK renewable energy guarantees of origin (REGOs).
