CoreWeave expands its European AI cloud infrastructure with a renewable energy data centre deployment across two Conapto campuses in Stockholm, Sweden

CoreWeave has signed a co-location agreement with Swedish data centre operator Conapto to establish two new campuses in Stockholm.

The deployment provides additional immediate AI cloud capacity for the European market and aligns with the region's focus on sustainable digital infrastructure.

Initial capacity is already operational at the Stockholm 4 South facility, marking a significant milestone in regional data processing capabilities.

The partnership grants AI developers access to CoreWeave Cloud, a platform structured specifically for modern AI workloads.

This environment integrates high-performance compute, networking, storage and software orchestration to facilitate the rapid scaling of enterprise applications.

The expansion addresses a clear requirement among European technology firms for infrastructure that processes intensive workloads without latency or availability constraints.

Managing high-density hardware

As AI models transition from the experimental phase into full commercial production, facility operators face increasing pressure to provide resilient environments capable of supporting intensive processing tasks.

CoreWeave addresses this requirement by deploying NVIDIA Blackwell Architecture and NVIDIA Vera Rubin Platforms.

These computing systems are connected via NVIDIA Quantum-X800 InfiniBand to ensure the necessary throughput for large-scale enterprise operations.

Integrating these advanced components requires specialist data centre management.

High-density server infrastructure generates significant thermal output, necessitating advanced cooling protocols and robust power provisioning to prevent hardware throttling.

By selecting Conapto as a regional partner, CoreWeave secures the physical environment and redundant systems required to maintain continuous uptime for these power-intensive clusters.

“Sweden has been central to CoreWeave’s European strategy since our first continental investment,” says Sachin Jain, Chief Operating Officer at CoreWeave.

“Conapto’s local expertise and sustainable energy profile allows us to provide our customers what they need: urgent high performance AI compute with the reliability and environmental credentials that enterprise AI deployments demand.”

District heating and sustainability

Power availability and sustainability remain central concerns for the global data centre sector.

The Stockholm campuses operate entirely on renewable energy sources, aligning with broader European mandates for green technology adoption.

This operational model reduces the carbon footprint associated with training and running large foundation models.

Conapto implements mechanical systems that redirect the thermal energy generated by the compute clusters. Instead of venting this server heat as a waste byproduct, the facilities capture it and feed it directly into the municipal infrastructure.

"We're excited to partner with CoreWeave to support the rapidly growing demand for their AI cloud platform," says Håkan Björklund, CEO at Conapto.

"CoreWeave is at the forefront of AI innovation, and we're proud to provide the resilient, high-density infrastructure needed to power their next phase of growth.

“Combined with our commitment to 100% renewable energy and heat recovery to Stockholm's district heating network, this partnership demonstrates how advanced AI infrastructure and sustainability can go hand in hand."

Scaling global power capacity

The arrangement with Conapto increases CoreWeave's presence in Europe to eight operational sites.

This forms part of a broader international footprint that encompasses 49 data centres globally as of 31 March 2026. Across this real estate portfolio, the company manages more than 1GW of active power and maintains over 3.5GW of contracted power to support complex workloads at scale.

This physical infrastructure underpins the company's service delivery to nine of the 10 leading foundation model providers. CoreWeave validates its facility performance through independent testing, achieving record-breaking MLPerf benchmark results.

The cloud provider maintains a Platinum ranking in both SemiAnalysis ClusterMAX 1.0 and 2.0. Independent inference benchmarking conducted by Artificial Analysis also ranks the company first for inference speed and price-performance concerning Moonshot AI’s Kimi K2.6.
