Flexential appoints Greg Ogle as CIO to unify IT, strengthen cybersecurity and embed AI across its data centre operations

Flexential confirms the appointment of Greg Ogle as CIO to lead its internal technology transformation, expand cybersecurity oversight and accelerate the integration of AI into its digital foundation.

The company, which provides secure and flexible data centre solutions, positions this appointment as part of its broader strategy to meet rising demand for hybrid infrastructure and AI-ready capacity.

"Greg has a proven track record of leading IT in complex, high-stakes environments,” says Ryan Mallory, President and COO at Flexential.

“He brings the operational discipline and forward-looking vision we need as we embed AI more deeply into our technology and processes.

“Greg's leadership will ensure our systems are more intelligent, resilient and efficient, enhancing both the employee experience and the way customers engage with our services."

Experience and leadership background

Greg brings more than 25 years of experience in aligning enterprise IT with business goals.

Before joining Flexential, he served as Vice President of Global IT Infrastructure and Cloud Operations at Equinix, one of the largest data centre operators worldwide.

In that role, he managed global networks, enterprise applications and cloud platforms.

He also held a board-appointed position as interim Chief Information Security Officer, providing him with direct oversight of critical cybersecurity operations.

As CIO at Flexential, Greg assumes responsibility for enterprise systems, cloud architecture and data governance.

He will also guide AI integration across IT operations while shaping IT policy and directing long-term investment strategy.

His role includes modernising the company’s digital foundation and ensuring that governance, compliance and technology processes remain consistent and scalable.

Priorities for Flexential’s IT strategy

Greg’s immediate focus is to unify Flexential’s technology stack and establish a standardised architecture for digital services across the company.

By doing so, he aims to simplify platform portfolios, streamline engineering processes and embed AI across IT systems.

This approach is expected to create greater efficiency and resilience within the company’s operations while also enhancing services for customers.

"Flexential is at a pivotal moment, where the convergence of AI, cloud and hybrid infrastructure are reshaping how enterprises operate,” says Greg.

“I'm excited to build on Flexential's strong foundation to deliver technology that is smarter, more secure and more connected.

“My focus will be on ensuring our digital backbone not only supports today's needs but also provides the resiliency and trust our customers require as we prepare for the opportunities of tomorrow."

Flexential highlights that this strategy is shaped by conditions in the wider data centre market.

Earlier this year, vacancy rates in primary North American markets dipped to a low of 1.6%, reflecting the growing demand for capacity and the shift towards hybrid infrastructure.

By investing in both AI-enabled systems and digital governance, the company intends to support enterprises as they adapt to these changing requirements.

Part of wider organisational growth

Greg’s appointment follows several leadership additions designed to advance Flexential’s long-term infrastructure strategy.

Thomas Bailey, Vice President of Energy at Flexential

In July, the company appointed Thomas Bailey as Vice President of Energy and Matthew Baumann as Vice President of Site Acquisition.

These roles were created to strengthen power access and expand development capacity across Flexential’s facilities.

Alongside leadership changes, Flexential has secured around US$1bn in investment from GI Partners, GI Data Infrastructure, Hamilton Lane and Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners over the past year.

These funds are allocated to support continued expansion, ensuring the company can scale its portfolio to meet customer demand.

With Greg’s appointment, Flexential adds experienced leadership at the centre of its IT and digital strategy.

His role connects directly to how the company manages data centre operations, implements AI-enabled processes and secures its infrastructure.

The combination of leadership changes and financial investment signals a coordinated approach to modernising systems while keeping pace with demand in the data centre sector.
