Part of the answer for CyrusOne lies in bringing in leadership with experience spanning hyperscale facilities and military operations.

The company has appointed Bob Hennegan as Senior Vice President, U.S. Operations, bringing one of the industry's most experienced operations leaders into a role focused on maintaining performance and reliability as its portfolio continues to grow.

Bob joins CyrusOne from Meta, where he served as Vice President for Global Data Center Facility Operations, helping oversee one of the world's largest data centre organisations.

His appointment comes at a time when operators are under more pressure to expand capacity while maintaining the standards customers expect from mission-critical infrastructure.

In his new position, Hennegan will oversee the performance, reliability and scalability of CyrusOne's US data centre operations.

He will also focus on driving greater operational consistency across the company's expanding estate.

Scaling operations alongside demand

As demand for digital infrastructure accelerates, data centre operators are placing greater emphasis on operational leadership.

While building new facilities and scaling quickly is often the focus for data centre companies, ensuring those facilities can be run efficiently and reliably should be considered front and foremost at design stage.

Bob's experience managing large, complex organisations is a key part of that strategy.

Before joining Meta, Bob served as a Rear Admiral in the United States Navy, where he led large-scale organisations operating in demanding environments where accountability and operational discipline were critical.
