Mark Smith takes the helm at RED Engineering Design as the consultancy looks to expand its global digital infrastructure and sustainability footprint

RED Engineering Design has appointed Mark Smith as its new CEO. The change in leadership took effect on 1 July 2026 as Mark succeeds Thierry Kalfon, who has transitioned to a strategic role within the ENGIE Group.

Mark will direct the company through its next phase of corporate development, drawing on over 35 years of experience as a Chartered Engineer.

"It is a tremendous privilege to be appointed CEO of RED Engineering Design,” says Mark.

“Having been part of this business for over a decade, I have seen first-hand the talent, ambition and commitment of our people, and what we can achieve together. RED has built an exceptional reputation for engineering excellence and trusted client relationships.”
