The urban data centre specialist has expanded its UK footprint with eight sites, scaling capacity and AI-ready infrastructure for enterprise demand

Stellanor Datacenters has completed the acquisition of eight data centres from UK managed services provider Redcentric plc, significantly expanding its national footprint in the urban data centre market.

The deal brings approximately 450 enterprise customers into Stellanor’s portfolio and marks a key step in its strategy to build a leading platform of urban facilities designed to deliver wholesale and AI-ready colocation capacity.

The company’s growth reflects rising demand for infrastructure that can support increasingly data-intensive workloads close to end users.

With the addition of the Redcentric sites, Stellanor now operates 11 facilities across the UK.

These are located across London in sites such as at Goswell Road, Braham Street and Shoreditch. Sites outside of London include, Reading, Cambridge, Gatwick, Woking, Byfleet, West Yorkshire, Hemel Hempstead and a site close to Heathrow.

Together, the portfolio makes up 39MVA of secured grid capacity.

Scaling for enterprise and AI demand

The expanded footprint positions Stellanor to address growing enterprise requirements for high-performance colocation services.

Its urban strategy centres on proximity, bringing infrastructure closer to businesses and users to reduce latency and improve performance for critical applications.

The combined portfolio enables the delivery of high-density colocation alongside advanced cooling systems, enhanced physical and digital security and sustainability measures supported through renewable energy procurement.

Sustainability is becoming increasingly important as enterprises adopt highly demanding AI-driven workloads, including inference, machine learning and real-time analytics.

To support this shift, Stellanor is rolling out coordinated infrastructure upgrades across its network. These include enhancements to high-density power capacity, improvements in cooling efficiency and expanded fibre interconnection.

The upgrades are designed to ensure the platform can handle more intensive workloads while maintaining continuity for existing customers.

Rapid expansion backed by investment

The acquisition highlights the pace of Stellanor’s growth since its formation. Backed by infrastructure funds managed by DWS Group, the company has scaled rapidly in under a year, moving from a smaller footprint to a national platform with ambitions beyond the UK.

“This acquisition represents a transformative step in building the UK's leading urban data centre platform,” says Michael Tobin CBE, Chairman of the Board, Stellanor.

“We've scaled from two to 11 facilities in nine months, backed by the infrastructure fund managed by DWS Group.

“This enables Stellanor to serve the accelerating demand for enterprise colocation and AI-ready infrastructure across the UK, with further expansion into Ireland and the Nordic regions planned.

“We're building the platform for a digital future that's close to the businesses and people who depend on it.”

Strengthening partnerships and continuity

Redcentric's transaction represents a strategic shift while maintaining continuity for its data centre customers.

The company indicates confidence in Stellanor’s ability to manage and develop the acquired assets within a larger, integrated platform.

As Michelle Senecal De Fonseca, CEO at Redcentric, explains: “We're confident our data centre clients will benefit from Stellanor's platform approach and DWS backing.

“We look forward to continuing to develop our partnership together and building on the strong ties we have built through this sales process.”

Building a connected UK platform

The integration of the newly acquired sites forms part of a wider effort to create a cohesive, interconnected data centre network across the UK.

By linking facilities through enhanced fibre infrastructure, Stellanor aims to offer customers greater flexibility in deploying and scaling workloads across multiple locations.

This offer supports hybrid and distributed IT architectures, where enterprises increasingly require seamless connectivity between sites to manage data, applications and services efficiently.

It also aligns with the growing need for resilient infrastructure capable of supporting critical digital operations.

Stellanor has emphasised that its upgrade programme will be implemented with zero service disruption for existing clients, ensuring continuity while enhancing capacity and performance.
