UK Growth: Galaxy Data Centre Grows Team with New VP

Galaxy Data Centres has expanded its UK leadership team with the appointment of Ash Roberts as Vice President, Commercial, marking another milestone in a year defined by accelerated growth.
The company began 2025 with the acquisition of the Redhill Data Centre in Greater London, a strategic site that will now fall under Ash’s commercial remit as Galaxy sharpens its focus on high-demand, AI-ready infrastructure.
An experienced technology sales leader, Ash joins the organisation with a strong record in data centre and telco markets.
His background in customer-focused sales strategy, market differentiation and high-value enterprise engagement has positioned him well to support Galaxy’s next growth phase.
Targeting best-fit customers
Ash brings deep experience in building strategic partnerships and developing teams capable of scaling with market needs.
His approach will steer Galaxy toward best-fit customers that can derive the greatest value from its services, rather than pursuing a broad-based sales model.
Enterprise and hyperscale operators remain key targets, particularly those seeking sustainable, high-performance capacity in constrained markets like London.
Ash said, “I've already seen firsthand how Galaxy delivers meaningful outcomes for customers through smart energy procurement and continuous innovation, resulting in a 30% reduction in energy costs.
“This capability creates a genuine competitive advantage and I'm excited to bring that value to both new and existing customers.”
Ash highlights how energy management and operational efficiency have become defining factors for customers making long-term infrastructure investments.
Dave Misra, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Galaxy, said, “Ash's hands-on work with both enterprise and hyperscale clients, along with his familiarity with the importance of strategic customer targeting and long-term relationship building, makes him a perfect fit for Galaxy as we look to enter a new phase of growth.”
Dave positions the appointment as a key enabler for Galaxy’s expansion plans.
Scaling AI-ready infrastructure
Galaxy’s growing emphasis on energy efficiency and AI-capable data centre design played a significant role in Roberts’ decision to join the company.
As demand for high-density computing surges, operators are competing not only on available capacity but also on the ability to deliver resilient, sustainable and cost-effective solutions.
Roberts will play a central role in shaping the commercial direction of the Redhill Data Centre, which secured 15MWs of available capacity in one of Europe’s most constrained power markets.
The site illustrates Galaxy’s ability to navigate infrastructure bottlenecks and unlock new possibilities for customers seeking expansion in and around London.
Differentiation in a competitive landscape
The UK data centre market continues to evolve rapidly, with new entrants increasing competitive pressure and established global players strengthening their offerings. In this environment, differentiation remains critical.
Roberts highlighted the challenge and the opportunity it presents for Galaxy.
Ash says: “We operate in an increasingly competitive landscape – new entrants emerge rapidly and global players continually strengthen their propositions.
“To win, we must create blue oceans of differentiation and value.
“I believe Galaxy is uniquely positioned to do exactly that.”
Ash's appointment signals Galaxy’s intention to accelerate commercial momentum, strengthen its customer-focused engagement model and broaden its reach across both established and emerging markets.
With sustainability, energy optimisation and AI-ready infrastructure at the core of its strategy, the company is positioning itself to meet rising demand from organisations seeking long-term, scalable data centre partnerships.
