Fitri Abdullah joins Vantage Data Centers as Country Managing Director to lead its growing Malaysia portfolio and support expanding hyperscale demand

Vantage Data Centers has appointed Fitri Abdullah as Country Managing Director for Malaysia, a new role within the company’s Asia-Pacific (APAC) leadership team.

Taking on leadership of Malaysia operations

Fitri now leads the company's operations in Malaysia and reports directly to Jeremy Deutsch, President of Vantage APAC.

He is responsible for building on Vantage’s position in the market and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders.

Fitri brings more than 30 years of experience across the technology and communication sectors, including leadership roles in cloud computing, systems integration and IT services.

Most recently, he served as Managing Director of Oracle Corporation Malaysia for nine years.

In that role, he developed and delivered a business strategy that transformed Oracle into a cloud service provider in the Malaysian market.

Before joining Oracle, Fitri held the position of Managing Director at Mesiniaga Berhad, a listed IT services company.

He also served as Senior Vice President for enterprise business at Maxis Berhad, one of the country’s major communication service providers.

At both companies, he leads business units through a period of growth, using customer-focused approaches and operational streamlining to improve outcomes.

Earlier in his career, Fitri took on leadership roles at Hewlett Packard, working in consulting and systems integration across Asia-Pacific. His combined experience gives him unique insight into both local market dynamics and regional business structures.

Jeremy Deutsch, President of Vantage APAC.

Jeremy Deutsch says: “I am delighted to welcome Fitri to Vantage’s APAC business as our new managing director for Malaysia.

“Fitri’s appointment comes at a time of significant growth for us. His strategic vision and extensive experience will be instrumental as we pursue new opportunities and deepen our commitment to innovation and sustainability to keep pace with customer demand in such a dynamic market.”

Malaysian data centre growth supports wider APAC strategy

Fitri steps into his role as Vantage continues to expand its presence in Malaysia. The company’s current portfolio includes three hyperscale data centre campuses across Kuala Lumpur and Johor.

These sites support increasing demand from cloud and AI providers and align with national digital infrastructure plans.

Vantage positions Malaysia as an important location in its global network and sees it as a strong growth market in the APAC region.

The company’s expansion highlights its focus on meeting the infrastructure needs of next-generation technologies and reflects growing interest in Malaysia as a data centre hub.

Malaysia’s role in the region’s digital economy also supports Vantage’s investment strategy. The company’s facilities are designed to support hyperscale workloads, which are increasing due to cloud adoption and AI development. Fitri now leads the company’s local response to this trend.

Fitri says: “Malaysia is a strategically important market to Vantage and our customers.

“I am honoured and excited to take on this new role in advancing Vantage’s APAC growth journey and supporting Malaysia’s digital economy.

“I look forward to collaborating with teams across the company, customers, investors, government, policymakers and other stakeholders to deliver long-term value and a positive impact.”

Fitri strengthens APAC leadership structure

As part of the APAC executive team, Fitri will play a central role in both local execution and broader regional planning.

His knowledge of Malaysian market conditions and public-private partnerships helps Vantage align its operations with customer expectations, policy frameworks and investment goals.

Vantage continues to scale its hyperscale data centre campuses in response to demand from AI and cloud platforms.

With Fitri leading Malaysian operations, the company adds local leadership capacity to support both infrastructure delivery and commercial partnerships. This approach allows Vantage to match global expertise with on-the-ground insight across its international portfolio.
