Datalec Appoints Edmund Quek to Drive Data Centre Progress

Datalec Precision Installations has appointed Edmund Quek as Technology Delivery Manager for Asia-Pacific (APAC) operations, positioning the global data centre solutions provider to better capitalise on regional infrastructure growth.
The Singapore-based role represents Datalec’s strategic expansion into markets experiencing accelerated demand for AI, cloud computing and 5G infrastructure.
Edmund has brought with him more than two decades of IT infrastructure experience across APAC and the Middle East, having delivered more than 100 large-scale data centre projects for technology providers, financial institutions and telecommunications operators.
His track record includes achieving 25% reductions in project turnaround times whilst maintaining quality standards.
Edmund Quek’s mission-critical expertise
Appointing Edmund was a strategic decision for Datalec, as the company looks to strengthen its regional delivery capabilities during a period of rapid infrastructure expansion.
Notably, his career experience consists of data centre design, construction and technology operations across diverse market segments – with particular expertise in mission-critical deployments.
“We are pleased to have Edmund join DPI at such a transformative time in the industry,” says Peter Cole, Executive Vice President of APAC at Datalec Precision Installations.
“With the surge in digital infrastructure demand across the region, coupled with his extensive local knowledge, we look forward to delivering innovative, high-impact solutions that reflect DPI's commitment to excellence and client satisfaction under his leadership.”
Datalec seeks to target hyperscale and enterprise markets
Datalec specialises in mechanical and electrical design, connectivity solutions, bespoke manufacturing, construction and installation services. Its portfolio extends to consultancy, technical cleaning, electronic security and managed services supporting ongoing data centre operations.
The appointment is designed to address growing requirements from hyperscale data centres, in addition to enterprise IT providers and telecommunications operators that are seeking trusted partners for high-performance data centre design, construction and management services.
APAC markets in particular are witnessing increased investment in secure, scalable data centre infrastructure driven by digital transformation initiatives. The data centre market in the region only continues to expand, as big tech organisations look to invest in the region.
In 2029, it is anticipated that the market will swell to as large as US$150.59bn, in line with the dramatic growth of technologies like AI.
From Singapore, Edmund will oversee regional technology project delivery at Datalec, managing end-to-end data centre projects that align with client business objectives and technical specifications. His responsibilities are expected to include operational oversight, multi-disciplinary team coordination, resource management optimisation and stakeholder collaboration.
Precision installations hope to refine project frameworks
Edmund’s leadership focus is expected to centre on refining project execution frameworks, enhancing client onboarding processes and providing technical expertise during sales engagements.
He will also develop high-performance delivery culture across APAC operations whilst ensuring global delivery standards alignment with local compliance requirements.
Additionally, the role encompasses maintaining Datalec’s data centre build and fit-out projects according to international standards, whilst also addressing client-specific requirements.
Regional operations will continue supporting hyperscalers, telecommunications providers and enterprises requiring strong infrastructure solutions.
Datalec’s positioning in the market ultimately targets businesses accelerating digital transformation across APAC markets. The company's engineering capabilities, technical innovation and customer service approach address requirements for reliable, future-ready infrastructure solutions.
