Equinix Names Arquelle Shaw to Lead Americas Operations
Equinix appoints Arquelle Shaw as President, Americas, placing her in charge of operations across the company’s largest and fastest-growing region.
The company, which operates more than 260 data centres globally, says Arquelle will be responsible for managing strategy, operations and expansion in the Americas, with a focus on enabling customers to accelerate their digital infrastructure and connectivity goals.
Arquelle has worked at Equinix since 2019, most recently as Senior Vice President of Sales for the Americas. She will continue to serve in that role through the end of the third quarter of 2025 to ensure a seamless transition. The appointment is effective immediately.
Strategic oversight of Equinix’s data centre portfolio
As President, Arquelle will oversee the business performance of Equinix’s data centre footprint across the United States, Canada and Latin America.
Equinix’s International Business Exchange (IBX) data centres form the backbone of its digital infrastructure platform, used by enterprises, service providers and hyperscalers to deploy hybrid and multicloud environments.

Equinix’s Americas region includes some of its most important interconnection hubs, including Silicon Valley, Northern Virginia, Dallas, Toronto, São Paulo and Mexico City.
These locations support enterprise workloads, cloud on-ramps and direct connectivity to hundreds of networks and cloud providers. Arquelle’s new role will include overseeing ongoing expansion projects and customer growth strategies across this entire footprint.

The Americas portfolio continues to be a key growth driver for Equinix, as demand for AI-ready infrastructure, cloud connectivity and regional interconnection rises. In 2024, Equinix expanded or launched data centre builds in several US and Latin American markets. Arquelle will now be responsible for leading that momentum into the next stage of growth.
Background in enterprise technology and transformation
Before joining Equinix, Arquelle held leadership positions at Accenture, American Express and AT&T.
Her experience spans enterprise technology, customer strategy and business transformation—areas critical to the evolving requirements of data centre users. She is also an advocate for equity and inclusion and serves on the board of the Equinix Foundation, which leads the company’s social impact work.
Arquelle brings more than 20 years of commercial and strategic experience to the role, with a consistent track record of scaling operations and delivering financial results in complex technology environments.
Her appointment comes as Equinix continues to align its regional leadership with growing customer demand for sustainable, secure and scalable digital infrastructure across the Americas.
