MCG Expands Data Centre Manufacturing Scope with TxLa Deal

Mission Critical Group (MCG) has acquired TxLa Systems (TxLa) to expand its manufacturing capacity and deepen its role in data centre power infrastructure.
TxLa is a Texas-based manufacturer focusing on electrical switchgear â equipment that controls, protects and isolates electrical systems â and modular systems such as prefabricated e-houses used in data centre deployments.
The move builds on a partnership formed in 2023 and brings part of MCGâs supply chain in-house. This allows tighter coordination across design, manufacturing and delivery, with a clear aim to improve deployment speed for large-scale data centre projects.
Scaling infrastructure for data centres
TxLa adds production capacity across multiple facilities in Texas and brings 400 employees into the combined business. This strengthens MCGâs ability to support hyperscale and enterprise data centre builds, where demand for reliable and scalable power systems continues to grow.
Jeff Drees, CEO of Mission Critical Group, says: âTxLa has been a trusted manufacturing partner, and this acquisition reflects the strength of that relationship. Their flexibility, execution, and commitment to performance align closely with MCGâs culture and growth strategy.
âTogether, we will accelerate time-to-power for our customers and scale alongside the largest infrastructure programs in the market.â
Modular and switchgear integration
The deal strengthens MCGâs modular offering, particularly e-houses. These prefabricated units house electrical equipment off-site before installation, reducing on-site construction time and risk.
Combined with expanded switchgear manufacturing, this supports faster and more predictable deployments.
Bringing these capabilities together also improves supply chain resilience. By controlling more of the production process internally, MCG reduces reliance on external suppliers and gains more visibility over timelines.
Positioning for growth
Jared Lord, Owner and CEO of TxLa Systems, says: "Joining MCG positions us for continued growth. We’ve built a strong foundation together, and this next step allows us to scale our capabilities, invest in our people and operations, and deliver even greater value to our customers."
Jared points to continued investment in workforce and facilities as demand rises across power-intensive sectors, including data centres.
This acquisition advances MCG’s vision of an integrated power infrastructure platform across modular solutions, electrical equipment and lifecycle services – supporting data centres and other power-intensive industries.
