NTT DATA Launches Microsoft Cloud Unit for AI Scale

NTT DATA has launched a dedicated global business unit focused on Microsoft Cloud, aimed at helping enterprises accelerate AI and cloud transformation across markets.
The move reflects mounting demand for secure and scalable cloud-native platforms, particularly as organisations modernise IT and data centre operations to support generative AI.
The new unit integrates NTT DATA’s global capabilities in Microsoft Cloud, cybersecurity, data centre services and Agentic AI – a form of intelligent automation using multiple AI agents – to support digital infrastructure upgrades at speed and scale.
Meeting cloud demands with Microsoft alignment
With a presence in more than 50 countries and a team holding more than 24,000 Microsoft certifications, NTT DATA says its Microsoft Cloud business unit will offer end-to-end support across data centre and cloud deployments.
“Through our global business unit for Microsoft Cloud, we’re bringing together the strengths of both organisations to solve modern problems using advanced cloud and AI technologies, whether it’s modernising operations, improving how people work and connect, or delivering more intelligent, secure and resilient digital experiences,” says Charlie Li, Head of Cloud and Security Services at NTT DATA.
The unit is led by Aishwarya Singh, Senior Vice President and Head of the Global Business Unit for Microsoft Cloud.
It extends NTT DATA’s existing strategic relationship with Microsoft and enables alignment with Microsoft's engineering roadmap to support key sectors, including regulated industries.
NTT DATA is working closely with Microsoft on Sovereign Cloud specialisation under the Microsoft AI Cloud partner programme, enabling clients to meet compliance, sovereignty and data residency requirements without compromising on agility or performance.
Targeting scale with Agentic AI
A major area of focus for the unit is scaling Agentic AI through Microsoft Azure AI Foundry and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
The company says it has seen strong enterprise demand since launching its Agentic AI Services for Hyperscaler AI Technologies, with nearly 100 opportunities created in just 90 days.
These services enable clients to orchestrate intelligent workflows, streamline voice communications and deploy multi-agent AI systems that can be integrated into existing digital infrastructure.
The technical backbone for these deployments includes data centre platforms designed to handle large-scale compute loads.
These are key to running AI workloads efficiently and support NTT DATA’s broader mission to bring AI out of the research lab and into real-world operations.
Cloud-native development and infrastructure support
NTT DATA’s cloud transformation services will also focus on accelerating Azure-native development through its Industry Cloud platform, which features a microservices library of more than 500 prebuilt accelerators.
This is aimed at developers and IT teams building applications that demand rapid deployment and scalability.
The company says its services are backed by 27 Advanced Specialisations across Azure, including Security, Infrastructure, Digital and App Innovation and AI Business Solutions.
This capability allows it to help enterprises migrate and analyse large datasets, scale AI and ML workloads and implement composable infrastructure – all essential to modern data centre transformation.
Partnership for scalable infrastructure
Stephen Boyle, Global Leader, SI & Advisory at Microsoft, says: “NTT DATA has played a pivotal role in driving global adoption of Microsoft Azure innovations.
“This global business unit and our expanded collaboration enables enterprises to integrate AI seamlessly, modernise operations and achieve digital transformation with confidence.”
By aligning its delivery, sales and pre-sales teams with Microsoft, NTT DATA aims to offer a streamlined customer experience from design through to implementation.
The new business unit will focus on reducing the complexity of AI transformation while supporting long-term operational resilience and digital growth.
NTT DATA’s emphasis on security, sovereignty and scalability positions the company as a leading provider of digital infrastructure services in the AI era – with data centres and cloud-native solutions at the core of enterprise transformation.
