Partnership integrates Megaport’s NaaS platform for Telehouse Canada data centres to support hybrid cloud, AI workloads & scalable cross-border connection

Telehouse Canada has formed a strategic partnership with Network as a Service provider Megaport to deliver advanced cloud connectivity services across its Canadian data centre portfolio.

The collaboration is designed to give customers operating within Telehouse Canada facilities direct access to Megaport’s global ecosystem of cloud and service providers, strengthening cross-border connectivity and enabling more flexible network architectures.

As a subsidiary of the KDDI Group, Telehouse Canada operates carrier-neutral data centres that serve enterprises, cloud providers and network operators.

By integrating Megaport’s platform, Telehouse Canada is expanding the connectivity options available to customers that require low-latency access to global cloud services and scalable network capacity to support evolving digital workloads.

Enabling scalable hybrid and multi-cloud networks

Through the partnership, organisations hosted within Telehouse Canada data centres can connect to Megaport’s global network, which includes more than 280 cloud on-ramps and more than 300 service providers worldwide.

This allows customers to establish private, high-performance connections to leading public cloud platforms and IT services without relying on the public internet.

Access to the Megaport Portal from all Telehouse Canada facilities enables customers to provision connectivity on demand and adjust bandwidth as requirements change.

This supports a wide range of use cases, including hybrid cloud architectures, multi-cloud deployments and cross-region data replication, which are increasingly common among data centre customers managing distributed IT environments.

The integration is intended to simplify cloud networking by reducing the complexity traditionally associated with provisioning and managing connectivity across multiple providers and geographies.

Customers can use Megaport Cloud Routers to move data directly between cloud platforms, while API integration allows network services to be deployed and managed programmatically.

Strengthening the data centre ecosystem

For Telehouse Canada, the partnership aligns with a broader strategy of developing highly interconnected data centre campuses that go beyond colocation.

By embedding cloud connectivity capabilities directly into its facilities, the company is positioning its data centres as hubs for digital ecosystems that support growth, resilience and international reach.

ā€œThis partnership exemplifies the commitment Telehouse Canada and Megaport have to providing quality and efficient connectivity solutions,ā€ says Atsushi Kubo, President and CEO of Telehouse Canada.

ā€œWe’re proud to deliver more than colocation - we’re also enabling a highly interconnected ecosystem that empowers businesses to grow within our data centre campus.

ā€œTelehouse Canada customers gain on-demand access to global services that simplify complexity and accelerate growth through Megaport’s platform.ā€

For data centre customers, this approach reduces deployment times and operational overheads while improving access to global markets.

Enterprises can scale connectivity alongside compute and storage resources, supporting rapid expansion or changes in workload demand without the need for long-term network commitments.

Supporting AI and high-performance workloads

The partnership also extends to Megaport’s AI Exchange platform, which is designed to support connectivity for AI-driven organisations.

AI Exchange enables direct access to GPU as a service providers, neocloud platforms, third-party AI models and distributed storage and compute resources.

For data centres hosting AI and high-performance computing workloads, this capability addresses growing demand for fast, reliable interconnection between data, compute and AI services.

By enabling private connectivity to specialised AI resources, customers can optimise performance and data movement while maintaining control over security and latency.

AI Exchange is positioned as an extension of the connectivity services available within Telehouse Canada facilities, allowing customers to integrate AI capabilities into their existing architectures without significant changes to underlying infrastructure.

Building resilient connectivity foundations

From Megaport’s perspective, the partnership provides an opportunity to embed its NaaS platform within a strong local data centre ecosystem while extending its reach to Canadian organisations with global connectivity requirements.

Michael Reid, CEO of Megaport

ā€œOrganisations are operating across more complex environments, where connectivity and compute need to work together seamlessly,ā€ says Michael Reid, CEO of Megaport.

ā€œWorking closely with Telehouse Canada allows us to extend that capability into a strong local ecosystem, giving organisations the foundations they need to support advanced workloads today and adapt as requirements evolve.ā€

Telehouse Canada and Megaport have indicated that they plan to continue developing their collaboration, with a focus on strengthening secure, high-performance connectivity for organisations operating within and beyond Canada.

For customers hosted in Telehouse Canada data centres, the partnership delivers immediate access to scalable cloud connectivity services that support international expansion, AI adoption and hybrid IT strategies.
