Vertiv and GreenScale agree to collaborate on deploying prefabricated AI-ready data centre platforms across new hyperscale campuses in Europe

Vertiv and GreenScale have announced a strategic collaboration focused on delivering factory-integrated data centre platforms designed for next-generation AI workloads across Europe.

The agreement brings together Vertiv’s prefabricated infrastructure systems and GreenScale’s hyperscale campus developments, with the aim of accelerating the deployment of AI-ready capacity while maintaining consistency across multiple sites.

Following a competitive pre-qualification questionnaire process, GreenScale has selected Vertiv as its preferred provider for standardised prefabricated Vertiv OneCore hybrid-built data centres.

Under the collaboration, GreenScale manages slab-down construction and site-wide infrastructure, while Vertiv supplies modular data centre units engineered for high-density and liquid-cooled environments.

Standardised platforms for AI workloads

The Vertiv OneCore platform is designed to support liquid-cooled deployments of NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GB200 and GB300 graphics processing units, as well as next-generation Vera Rubin GPUs.

These processors are used for large-scale AI and high-performance computing applications that require high power density and precise thermal control.

Vedran Brzić, VP Infrastructure Solutions Business EMEA at Vertiv, says: ā€œAI workloads demand density and speed. By integrating the Vertiv OneCore platform into GreenScale’s standard design, we can help to accelerate deployment of scalable infrastructure for AI, high-performance (HPC), and high-density computing.

ā€œOur scalable prefabricated solution integrates our proven power, thermal, and IT infrastructure into a single factory-assembled system that can help customers deploy high-density capacity more efficiently while increasing reliability and performance.ā€

Vertiv’s factory-built approach allows modules to be assembled and tested off-site before delivery.

This reduces on-site construction time and limits variability between deployments, which is a growing priority for operators rolling out multiple AI-focused facilities.

The OneCore platform supports rack densities of more than 200kW and incorporates coolant distribution units with a dual-loop liquid cooling system.

This configuration supports direct liquid cooling for GPU-intensive environments while maintaining redundancy and operational resilience.

The platform is complemented by Vertiv SmartRun overhead prefabricated infrastructure.

SmartRun integrates power distribution and an integrated secondary fluid network for liquid-cooled thermal management. The secondary fluid network enables controlled distribution of coolant throughout the data hall, supporting consistent thermal performance in high-density layouts.

Modules are delivered factory-built and pre-tested. GreenScale is responsible for site services including grid integration, permitting, battery monitoring system and security systems – as well as slab-down construction.

This division of responsibility is intended to streamline deployment by separating site preparation from the delivery of standardised data centre modules.

Supporting European hyperscale expansion

GreenScale positions the collaboration as central to its European expansion plans. The company plans to develop approximately 120MW of capacity in Northern Ireland and more than 300MW across the Nordic region. Its longer-term objective is to deploy close to one gigawatt of data centre capacity across Europe.

Dan Thomas, CEO at GreenScale, says: ā€œOur collaboration with Vertiv aligns perfectly with GreenScale’s mission to rapidly deploy high efficiency, AI-ready infrastructure across Europe.

ā€œBy standardising on Vertiv’s prefabricated platforms, we gain significant advantages in speed-to-market, quality control, and operational efficiency

ā€œTheir proven experience in high-density cooling solutions and factory-integrated approach helps us minimise on-site complexity while enabling our facilities to be optimised for the most demanding AI workloads. This standardised platform approach will be instrumental in executing our ambitious expansion plans across Northern Ireland and the Nordics.ā€

GreenScale states that its strategy is based on aligning closely with technology providers that can deliver scalable infrastructure in line with aggressive build timelines.

By adopting a standardised platform model, the company aims to reduce design variation across sites while ensuring that facilities are ready to support future generations of AI hardware as they enter production.
