Beyond.pl has launched its sovereign AI Factory with NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD and Pure Storage technology in response to European demand for AI computing

Beyond.pl has announced the launch of a sovereign AI Factory at its data centre campus in Poznan, Poland.

The deployment makes Beyond.pl one of the first operators in the Central Eastern European (CEE) region to provide a comprehensive platform that supports the full scope of AI development, including AIaaS, GPU as a Service, NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, data centre infrastructure, and managed services.

As part of these plans, the Polish data centre operator has also entered into an agreement with Pure Storage to provide access to sovereign next-generation infrastructure and software services for AI deployments in collaboration with NVIDIA.

The new offering is based on NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD, which leverages the NVIDIA Blackwell GPU architecture with DGX B200 systems interconnected via NVIDIA Quantum-2 InfiniBand networking.

Wojciech Stramski, Beyond.pl CEO

“We are investing in cutting-edge infrastructure and software that provides gigantic computing power so that businesses driving innovation in Poland and the CEE region can do so while ensuring control over data and the IP that they create with the ability to competitively scale their innovations globally, without any constraints,” says Wojciech Stramski, Beyond.pl CEO.

“The introduction of the NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD, the world’s most modern AI supercomputer, to Beyond.pl eliminates the critical problem of lack of access to sovereign high-performance computing power to further the democratisation of access to AI.”

The implementation includes Pure Storage FlashBlade//S500 systems, a consolidated scale-out file and object storage platform certified for NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD.

Connected with NVIDIA Spectrum Ethernet networking, the company’s storage solution allows for processing multiple data streams simultaneously, reducing data loading times and accelerating model training and inference workloads.

“We are delighted to support Beyond.pl and its customers throughout the CEE region. Our partnership provides organisations with access to solutions which will enhance AI projects through validated designs to support customer's complex needs,” shares Omar Akar, RVP, METCA region at Pure Storage.

He adds: “Pure Storage's enterprise capabilities, experience in scaling AI solutions for customers, and seamless SuperPOD integration with FlashBlade means we're well positioned to support Beyond.pl's AI Factory.

“We look forward to further collaboration with NVIDIA and Beyond.pl on this exciting new venture.”

NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD: Building an AI factory

The current launch represents the first phase of a larger project aimed at building a large-scale sovereign AI Factory on Beyond.pl's data centre campus.

The company is also planning to leverage its infrastructure with renewable energy and efficient power usage to host NVIDIA computing platforms. It maintains it is ready to deliver high-density colocation of up to 140kW per rack for accelerated AI infrastructure on its campus, which has up to 100MW committed power.

The services comply with EU regulations, including the AI Act, GDPR and NIS2. Data used to train AI models or for inference purposes remains under the customer's control to minimise unauthorised access to critical information.

This news comes in the wake of Nvidia’s eagerness to support the building of AI factories – specialised computing infrastructure within the data centre that is designed to accommodate AI workloads.

Nvidia's AI supercomputers are a critical foundation for these AI factories. Industry projections even indicate that tens of 'gigawatt AI factories' – data centres consuming electricity at the scale of gigawatts – will be constructed in the coming years to meet the growing demand for AI computing capabilities.

Carlo Ruiz, Vice President, Enterprise Solutions at Nvidia

Carlo Ruiz, Vice President, Enterprise Solutions at NVIDIA, states: “AI Factories are the engines of a new industrial revolution, enabling nations and enterprises to manufacture intelligence at unprecedented scale.

“The Beyond.pl NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD brings transformative AI supercomputing to Central Eastern Europe, empowering innovators with sovereign, high-performance infrastructure to accelerate breakthroughs and fuel the region's global AI ambitions.”

Providing a strong foundation for AI infrastructure

Operating entirely on renewable energy, Beyond.pl is also collaborating with Veolia Energia Poznan on a project to recover approximately 30 MW of waste heat in the project's first phase, making it Poland's first heat recovery initiative between a data centre and a district heating company.

Beyond.pl data centre campus:
  • Located in Poznan, Poland
  • 150MW target capacity
  • Offers multiple rated levels from 3+ to 4
  • Provides data transfer times to major European cities including key markets Berlin and Warsaw (4ms), Prague (7ms), Frankfurt (11ms), Amsterdam (16ms) and London (24ms) round trip
  • Data Centre 2: 100% uptime, ANSI/TIA-942 Rated 4 certification
