The company is responding to sustained growth in demand for data centre services driven by cloud adoption, high-performance computing and AI workloads, particularly in locations offering access to renewable energy and cooler climates.

Strengthening policy and communications capability

In his new role, Tatu Tuominen will lead atNorth’s public affairs, corporate communications and reputation strategy.

His remit includes policy engagement, industry relationships and ensuring that communications align with the company’s long-term strategy and growth objectives.

Tatu brings experience from senior communications and public affairs roles across science, sustainability, transport and telecommunications.

His background includes positions at Bayer, VR Group and Telia Finland, alongside experience working with the Permanent Representation of Finland to the EU and as a ministerial adviser.

atNorth expects the role to support engagement with policymakers and industry bodies as digital infrastructure regulation and sustainability requirements continue to evolve.

The company is positioning itself as a provider of sustainable data centre capacity in the Nordic region, with communications playing a role in customer engagement, community relations, recruitment and investor dialogue.

Tatu will be based at atNorth’s FIN02 facility and will report to Fredrik Jansson, the company’s Chief Strategy, Marketing and Communications Officer.

Health, safety and environment across expanding campuses

Anne Helenius-Heir, Director of Health, Safety and Environment at atNorth

Anne Helenius-Heir has been appointed Director of HSE, with responsibility for health, safety and environmental frameworks across atNorth’s operational and developing data centre campuses.

Her role covers both existing facilities and future developments as the company expands.

Anne has held leadership positions at Shell, ABB and Kemira Oyj, where she developed and implemented global EHSQ frameworks and ESG reporting programmes.

atNorth highlighted her experience in environmental due diligence, corporate responsibility and driving improvements in safety culture and sustainability performance.

The company says the appointment will support the future proofing of its HSE framework as campus scale and operational complexity increase.

Ensuring compliance, workforce safety and environmental protection is becoming more critical as data centre operators manage larger sites and higher power densities.

Anne will be based at atNorth’s FIN02 campus in Espoo, Finland and will report to Chief Sustainability and Compliance Officer Janne Sigurdsson.

Leadership expansion aligned with growth

atNorth says the appointments are part of a broader effort to strengthen leadership depth as the business grows.

The company operates high-density data centres designed to support energy-intensive workloads while leveraging the Nordics’ renewable power and climate advantages.
