Black Box Appoints Sean Maguire to Lead Data Centre Growth

Black Box has named Sean Maguire as Senior Vice President of Sales for its data centre business, a move aimed at accelerating its delivery of end-to-end digital infrastructure solutions across hyperscale, colocation and enterprise markets.
The company says the appointment supports its long-term strategy to scale mission-critical services and meet growing demand for agile, secure and scalable data centre environments.
Operating in 35 countries, Black Box provides infrastructure services that span design, build and managed operations.
The firm is focusing on deeper customer engagement as data centre deployments expand in response to rising cloud, AI and interconnection requirements. Sean will lead the global sales function and oversee the alignment between commercial strategy and operational delivery.
Strengthening leadership for global expansion
Sanjeev Verma, President and CEO of Black Box, describes the appointment as central to the company’s next phase of growth.
“Black Box has made significant strides in transforming and expanding its global data centre business footprint. We are now entering a new era – one that demands speed and consistency at scale,” says Sanjeev.
“Sean brings a rare blend of strategic foresight, operational excellence, and a deep understanding of our customers’ data centre requirements. His leadership will be instrumental in evolving our go-to-market approach and strengthening our position as the partner of choice for data centre solutions.”
Sean brings over 25 years of experience from roles at Atos, Digital Realty, Olsson, CEC Facilities Group and as founder of infrastructure advisory firm Stratygy.
His background combines enterprise IT sales, data centre infrastructure strategy and operational planning, positioning him to lead Black Box’s commercial response to shifting customer expectations around scale, energy and resiliency.
In his new role, Sean will work with global teams across sales, operations, delivery, safety and quality to ensure Black Box’s services are consistently aligned to customer and market demands.
Sales leadership focused on end-to-end delivery
Black Box’s portfolio includes site design, power and cooling infrastructure, structured cabling, security systems and managed services—all critical to new and expanding data centre builds.
With projects ranging from greenfield hyperscale campuses to regional edge facilities, the company sees growing demand for comprehensive lifecycle delivery models that combine speed with operational integrity.
“As businesses accelerate their AI journey, the demand for adaptable, secure and scalable data center infrastructure is soaring,” says Sean. “Black Box, with its global presence, is uniquely positioned to meet this demand with speed, safety and consistency.
“I’m excited to join this exceptional team to deliver long-term value for our customers and stakeholders. Together with our partners, we will continue to drive world-class, end-to-end solutions enabling customers to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving data center market.”
His role will also involve refining Black Box’s go-to-market structure to support deeper collaboration with hyperscalers, service providers and enterprises building or upgrading core infrastructure to meet AI and high-density compute requirements.
Aligning growth with customer-centric execution
Black Box says Sean’s appointment supports its ongoing mission to centre customer needs in every phase of infrastructure delivery, from concept through to commissioning.
The company aims to provide consistent execution across international markets, helping customers manage complex deployments in parallel with evolving compliance, safety and sustainability requirements.
By reinforcing leadership in its data centre division, Black Box intends to scale its presence in a sector where global demand is being reshaped by AI workloads, latency-sensitive applications and high-availability services.
Sean will be a key figure in building the sales and delivery systems needed to meet that demand with repeatable, high-quality infrastructure outcomes.
As the data centre landscape becomes more competitive, Black Box’s leadership team continues to invest in experienced talent to expand its footprint, deliver operational consistency and meet new customer challenges across the digital infrastructure lifecycle.
