EdgeMode and SUB1 form a strategic partnership to fast-track sustainable, high-performance data centre developments in Sweden and Spain

EdgeMode Inc. and SUB1 Data Centres Ltd have formed a strategic partnership to accelerate the rollout of high-performance, energy-efficient data centres across Europe.

The collaboration will focus on expanding EdgeMode’s digital infrastructure footprint in two of the continent’s most active data centre markets: Sweden and Spain.

Both companies share a vision for delivering flexible, next-generation facilities designed for the growing demand created by AI, high-performance computing (HPC) and digital workloads that require greater efficiency and sustainability.

Partnership to drive European expansion

Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with a growing global presence, EdgeMode specialises in high-performance data centre solutions optimised for compute-intensive applications. SUB1, based in London, has established itself as a next-generation data centre developer with a focus on design innovation and capital development for hyperscale and AI-driven environments.

Through this new agreement, SUB1 will work with EdgeMode to provide design and delivery expertise, introduce sources of investment capital and offer capacity in Sweden and Spain to EdgeMode’s expanding customer base.

“This partnership with SUB1 positions EdgeMode to capture growing demand for sustainable, high-performance data centre capacity in key European markets,” says Charlie Faulkner, CEO of EdgeMode. “With SUB1’s deep market knowledge, relationships, and track record in data centre delivery, we are confident in their ability to accelerate client engagement and unlock significant value in expansion territories.”

Sweden and Spain: fast-growing data centre hubs

Sweden and Spain are emerging as key destinations for digital infrastructure investment, driven by renewable energy availability, favourable business environments and increasing demand for AI and cloud services. SUB1’s involvement will be critical in positioning EdgeMode to meet demand in these two rapidly developing markets.

Sweden continues to attract large-scale investment in hyperscale and AI infrastructure due to its stable grid, access to green energy and cool climate, which provides natural advantages for energy-efficient operations.

Dominic Rumsey, CEO of SUB1 Data Centres

“We are excited to announce this partnership with EdgeMode as we share their ambitions for growth,” says Dominic Rumsey, CEO of SUB1 Data Centres.

“Sweden is fast becoming one of the most desirable data centre markets in the world and this partnership will yield some of the best AI capacity in the region. Spain is also surging and we’re delighted to expand our footprint in the Iberian Peninsula too. Both our customers and our partners will benefit greatly from this announcement and we look forward to working with the EdgeMode team.”

By leveraging SUB1’s regional expertise and existing partnerships, EdgeMode aims to accelerate project timelines and bring new AI-ready capacity online faster than traditional development cycles allow.

The collaboration also introduces new financial pathways to support EdgeMode’s European expansion, reinforcing the company’s strategy of scaling its operations in key renewable-powered markets.

Building the foundation for an AI-powered future

The partnership aligns with both companies’ shared mission to deliver sustainable digital infrastructure optimised for next-generation computing. EdgeMode’s data centres are built with modularity and efficiency in mind, enabling rapid deployment and the ability to adapt to changing power and compute requirements.

As the data centre industry continues to evolve to meet the demands of AI and HPC workloads, the focus is shifting toward infrastructure that combines performance with environmental responsibility. Energy-efficient designs, flexible deployment models, and access to renewable energy sources are becoming essential differentiators for operators seeking to meet both regulatory standards and customer expectations.

By combining EdgeMode’s expertise in high-performance computing environments with SUB1’s experience in site development and capital management, the two companies aim to deliver facilities that balance scale, sustainability, and speed to market.

For clients across Europe, this collaboration promises a new level of flexibility in accessing sustainable data centre capacity. It will also strengthen the region’s position as a hub for green digital transformation, supporting AI workloads that require both immense processing power and responsible energy use.

As EdgeMode expands its European footprint, the company’s partnership with SUB1 signals a broader trend toward alliances between technology infrastructure specialists and regional development experts. Together, they are helping to define what the next generation of sustainable, AI-ready data centres will look like – and where they will thrive.
