How Google Cloud and NTT Data Boost AI-Ready Data Centres

In a landmark first for a Japanese company, NTT DATA has announced a global agreement with Google Cloud to accelerate AI-powered cloud innovation and deliver tailored solutions for global businesses and enterprise data centres across industries.
The collaboration combines NTT DATAâs expertise in AI, cloud-native modernisation and data engineering with Google Cloudâs analytics, AI and cloud capabilities to provide customised, scalable infrastructure solutions. The companies are committing significant joint go-to-market investments to support adoption in key markets.
Marv Mouchawar, Head of Global Innovation at NTT DATA, says: âThis collaboration with Google Cloud represents a significant milestone in our mission to drive innovation and digital transformation across industries.
âBy combining NTT DATAâs deep expertise in AI, cloud-native modernization and enterprise solutions with Google Cloudâs advanced technologies, we are helping businesses accelerate their AI-powered cloud adoption globally and unlock new opportunities for growth.â
Kevin Ichhpurani, President of the Global Partner Ecosystem at Google Cloud, adds: âOur partnership with NTT DATA will help enterprises use agentic AI to enhance business processes and solve complex industry challenges.
âBy combining Google Cloud's AI with NTT DATA's implementation expertise, we will enable customers to deploy intelligent agents that modernise operations and deliver significant value for their organisations.â
Industry-specific AI and cloud integration
The partnership will focus on developing industry-specific AI and cloud solutions for sectors including banking, insurance, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, life sciences and the public sector.
In financial services, the collaboration will use NTT DATAâs Regla platform and Google Cloudâs AI infrastructure to support regulatory compliance and reporting.
In hospitality, NTT DATAâs Virtual Travel Concierge â powered by Googleâs Gemini models â will deliver 24/7 multilingual support, real-time itinerary planning and personalised travel recommendations.
The companies will also create solutions using Google Agentspace, secure data clean rooms and modernised data platforms to improve analytics, decision making and client experiences in data centre operations.
Cloud modernisation and sovereign deployments
NTT DATA will integrate Google Distributed Cloud into its infrastructure to deliver secure, scalable deployments from data centres to edge environments.
This will include air-gapped environments for complete data isolation and connected deployments that securely integrate with cloud services, meeting regulatory demands without limiting innovation.
The partnership will also focus on application and security modernisation, including mainframe migration, DevOps adoption, observability tools, API management and cybersecurity frameworks.
A Google Distributed Cloud sandbox environment will be offered to help developers test and deploy industry-specific and sovereign cloud projects using preconfigured templates, accelerating time-to-market for new data centre solutions.
Supporting delivery with AI frameworks
The initiative will use NTT DATAâs Takumi Gen AI framework, which integrates with Google Cloudâs AI stack to enable rapid prototyping and deployment of Gen AI use cases.
Takumi is part of the Smart AI Agent Ecosystem, which brings together strategic partnerships, specialised assets and an AI-ready talent base to help clients deploy and manage AI at scale.
NTT DATA will provide a full suite of advisory, implementation, hosting and managed services to support these solutions, ensuring enterprise-grade performance and resilience in data centre environments.
What is the Google Cloud Business Group?
To deliver on these goals, NTT DATA has established a global Google Cloud Business Group with thousands of engineers, architects and consultants working alongside teams from Google Cloud.
The company aims to certify 5,000 engineers in Google Cloud technology and is investing in training for sales, pre-sales and delivery teams.
Both companies are co-investing in global sales and marketing campaigns to drive adoption across priority industries.
Building on momentum
This partnership builds on the 2024 co-innovation agreement between the two companies in the Asia-Pacific region and follows NTT DATAâs acquisition of Niveus Solutions, a Google Cloud specialist.
JosĂ© Luis GonzĂĄlez Santana, Head of IT Infrastructure at Carrefour, says: âWeâre excited to see the strengthened partnership between NTT DATA and Google Cloud, which continues to deliver measurable impact.
Their combined expertise has been instrumental in migrating more than 380 workloads to Google Cloud to align with our cloud-first strategy.
âBy running SAP HANA on Google Cloud, we have consolidated 100 legacy applications to create a powerful, modernised e-commerce platform across 200 hypermarkets.
"This transformation has given us the agility we need during peak times like Black Friday and enabled us to launch new services faster than ever. Together, NTT DATA and Google Cloud are helping us deliver more connected, seamless experiences for our customers.â
