Why Civo is Hosting NVIDIA's Vera Rubin in UK Data Centres

Civo, a UK-based sovereign cloud provider, has revealed that it will be among the first companies worldwide to host NVIDIA's upcoming Vera Rubin platform in new liquid cooled data centres.
The move positions the UK to support the next generation of AI workloads while strengthening domestic sovereign infrastructure.
But the announcement goes beyond just adding another GPU platform to the cloud.
Vera Rubin's power density makes advanced liquid cooling a necessity for deployment, meaning operators without the right facilities will be unable to implement the technology at scale.
Why is liquid cooling essential for Vera Rubin?
NVIDIA's Vera Rubin architecture succeeds its Blackwell platform and has been designed for sophisticated AI applications, including agentic AI systems capable of carrying out multi-step tasks and complex reasoning.
Each GPU includes 288GB of HBM4 memory, significantly increasing power density and heat output.
Due to these ever-rising demands, liquid cooling may now be a core infrastructure requirement instead of merely an upgrade for data centre operators planning to support next-generation AI deployments.
For providers, access to the hardware alone is no longer enough. Facilities must also deliver the power, cooling and thermal management needed to operate the systems reliably.

How is sovereignty shaping infrastructure strategy?
European organisations in crucial sectors including healthcare, financial services and government are placing greater emphasis on where AI infrastructure and sensitive workloads are hosted.
Growing compliance requirements and concerns around data jurisdiction are driving demand for sovereign cloud services that keep infrastructure and data under domestic legal frameworks.
Civo says its UK-based cloud platform has been designed around those requirements, combining its own cloud architecture with regional compliance and transparent pricing.
The company has also removed egress charges, making itself an alternative for organisations looking to avoid dependence on overseas cloud infrastructure.
Preparing for next-generation AI
The infrastructure capable of supporting Vera Rubin is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2027.
Alongside purpose-built liquid cooled facilities designed for the platform's thermal and power requirements, Civo plans to offer early access to the Vera Rubin NVL72 platform, with pricing starting at US$11 per hour for customers registering interest.
By investing in cooling infrastructure ahead of the platform's arrival, Civo is targeting a growing gap in the AI market.
Data centre professionals are facing the challenge that demand for advanced GPUs continues to outstrip supply.
